Solar cash flow table calculator

Builds the year-by-year cash flow for a simple solar project: savings, O&M, replacement, incentive, loan payments, cumulative cash and payback.

A design aid, not financial advice. Nominal USD, pre-tax, no depreciation. Every starting value is an invented assumption for the worked example, not a market figure. Cash flows fall at year ends, with the outlay at year 0.

Presets:
ResultValue
Capex (USD)-
Year-1 savings, O&M and net cash (USD)-
Payback from the cumulative column (years)-
Payback from net cost divided by year-1 net cash (years)-
Discounted payback (years)-
Lowest cumulative cash (USD, year)-
Cumulative cash at end of life (USD)-
Discounted cumulative at end of life, which equals NPV (USD)-
Shortcut: year-1 net cash repeated for every year, cumulative at end (USD)-
YearSavingsO&MOtherLoanNetCumulativeDisc. cum.

Method: savings = kWh x value; kWh falls by the degradation rate each year after year 1 (compound). "Other" holds the inverter replacement (negative) and the incentive (positive). Loan payments are level. Payback is found by linear interpolation inside the year the cumulative line crosses zero. Type 1100000, 1.100.000 or 0,08. A single group such as 1,000 or 1.000 is ambiguous and is rejected: write 1000.
