Distributed generation calculator
Test one project against four current texts that use or bound distributed generation, and see the repealed EU Directive wording for reference.
A teaching aid, not legal advice. Presets are invented. The page tests only the size, siting, ownership and tariff parts printed in each text; read the source text before you rely on a result. Use a comma or a point for decimals, for example 0,8. Avoid thousands separators.
| Text | Counts as DG? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| EIA-861 form, Schedule 7B (size only) | ||
| Indiana Code 8-1-40-3 | ||
| Texas Utilities Code 39.916 | ||
| FERC small-generator size cap | ||
| EU Directive 2009/72/EC (repealed; not counted) |
Size is taken as printed, with no AC or DC basis. The Directive was repealed and is historical wording only. Indiana's second size limb (average annual use), its parallel-interconnection and emergency-only conditions are not tested. The Texas wording is for the term "distributed renewable generation".
