G98 or G99 first check (UK)

Adds up the kW on one premises, splits it by phase and compares it with the G98 limit.

A screening aid, not legal advice and not your DNO's decision. G98 Issue 2 defines Registered Capacity as the lesser of the inverter rating or the energy source rating; inverter AC kW is our stand-in. Phases are assumed balanced. 230 V is our assumption, used only to show amps. Every example input is invented. Check your own DNO's current page and forms.

Sources: ENA EREC G98 Issue 2 and EREC G99 Issue 2, both dated 10 March 2025, as opened in October 2026. Limits for kW at exactly 17 kW (single-phase) and exactly 50 kW (three-phase) are shown as a boundary because the sources word them differently.
