Solar feasibility screen

Build size from land and grid limits, then project IRR, NPV and break-even price for a ground-mount site.

A screening aid, not financial advice or a feasibility study. Every starting value is an invented placeholder for a made-up 40 ha parcel, not a benchmark. Yearly flows, nominal USD, pre-tax, no incentives, no debt, capex at year 0. Matches the worked example on the feasibility study page.

Presets:
ResultValue
Buildable area (ha)-
Land limit (MWdc)-
Grid limit (MWdc)-
Build size (MWdc) and the limit that binds-
Capex including interconnection (USD)-
Year-1 energy (MWh)-
Project IRR-
NPV at the hurdle rate (USD)-
Break-even year-1 price at the hurdle rate (USD per kWh)-

Method: build size is the lower of buildable area times density and grid headroom times DC/AC. Break-even price is the year-1 price at which NPV at the hurdle rate is zero, with the other inputs fixed. IRR is found by bisection. Numbers accept 1500000, 1,500,000 or 0,058 style input. A comma followed by exactly three digits (1,000) is read as thousands. Ambiguous forms such as 1.000, and trailing separators, are rejected: write 1000 or 1.
