Peak watt (Wp) tolerance calculator
Turn a datasheet watt rating and its printed tolerance into the array size range, and compare it with an inverter's AC size.
Design aid, not a datasheet. Every value is an input you type. The presets are the page's three examples: module ratings and tolerance rules as printed on three datasheets, with invented module counts and an invented 8 kWac inverter. Numbers accept 10,000 and 7,6. A single comma or dot followed by exactly three digits (1,500) is flagged as ambiguous.
Presets:
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
| One module, lowest to highest | - |
| Array at the label | - |
| Array, lowest to highest | - |
| Room either side of the label | - |
| DC/AC ratio: label, lowest, highest | - |
This covers only the printed power tolerance. It is not the separate measurement uncertainty some sheets print (for example Pmpp +/-3%), and it does not model heat or sunlight. Enter the "below" figure as a positive number.
