Wattage, kWp and kWac calculator
Add up module watts to kWp, compare with the inverter's AC rating, and see how many modules fit under a size limit read as DC or as AC.
Design aid, not a datasheet. Every value is an input you type. Defaults are the page's example: a 420 W module (datasheet class), a 5,000 W inverter (datasheet value), an invented 14 modules and an invented 10.0 kW limit. Numbers accept 10,000 and 7,6. A single comma or dot followed by exactly three digits (1,500) is flagged as ambiguous.
| Result | Value |
|---|---|
| DC size (kWp) | - |
| AC size (kWac) | - |
| DC/AC ratio | - |
| Limit read as DC | - |
| Limit read as AC (same ratio) | - |
Use the AC rating in watts, not VA, unless the datasheet says they are equal. The AC row keeps this design's ratio fixed. Whole modules only, rounded down.
