Solar design
BasicPRISM does not lay out panels itself. Enverus sells PV and BESS layout through its sister tool RatedPower.
Solar software review
A data platform for power developers. It helps you find project sites and check grid risk.
Our quick verdict
Best for
Developers and investors in very large North American solar and battery projects.
Not ideal for
Home or small business installers, and anyone outside North American power markets.
Biggest strength
Parcel, grid, queue and nodal price data in one place for early site screening.
Biggest weakness
Quote-only pricing and a wide, oil-and-gas-heavy platform you must learn.
Top alternative: PVcase Prospect. Pick it if you want site screening tied closely to a design tool.

You can screen land parcels by buildable acres, distance to power lines and nearby projects. You also see who owns each parcel, so you can reach out faster. Enverus says it has screened 156M+ parcels.
You can see available transmission capacity (ATC, how much room the grid has) at a point of interconnection. Enverus Interconnect runs SPP, MISO and PJM study models to estimate upgrade costs before you file.
You can study LMPs (the power price at a grid point), congestion and basis risk. Enverus offers 20-year hourly nodal price forecasts across 60,000+ nodes.
You can filter price nodes by negative-price hours, day-ahead versus real-time spreads and price swings. This shows where a battery could earn money by buying power cheap and selling it high.
Enverus says it tracks 88K+ projects with daily updates. Investors and EPCs use this to judge which queued projects may get built.
Fusion Connect lets you load your own data into PRISM. You can then map and screen sites with your data next to Enverus data.
Each feature shows what we found on Enverus PRISM’s own website, and how sure we are.
PRISM does not lay out panels itself. Enverus sells PV and BESS layout through its sister tool RatedPower.
We found no 3D modelling in PRISM. Enverus says RatedPower has 3D terrain.
We found no shade analysis in PRISM. Enverus says RatedPower covers shading.
Enverus says its design step gives yield estimates in minutes. This runs in RatedPower, not core PRISM.
For EPCs, Enverus tracks projects and developers so you can find work before an RFP. This is business leads, not homeowner leads.
Data layers include planned projects, permits and agreements. We found no tool to file permits.
You can test project value with nodal price forecasts, congestion and deal benchmarks. It does not offer loans.
We found no tools to run construction or installs. Portfolio tracking is about deals and markets.
Storage tools filter price nodes by negative-price hours, day-ahead versus real-time spreads and price swings.
The developer page lists a Monitor step, but we found no live system monitoring of solar output.
Fusion Connect brings your own data into PRISM. We found no list of named third-party connectors.
The terms of use mention Enverus APIs. We found no public API docs for power data.
Enverus sells Instant Analyst, a GenAI helper, and says PRISM uses AI. We could not test it.
The terms describe Enverus mobile apps, including an iOS app. We could not see which PRISM tools they cover.
Customers use PRISM dashboards and workbooks for site screens. We found no named report types for lenders.
Not what Enverus PRISM is for, so not scored: Proposals, CRM, Operations and repair (O&M).

| Type of business | Fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Home solar installers | Weak fit | Nothing on the site is built for home solar. |
| Business (commercial) installers | Weak fit | The tools target grid-scale power projects, not business rooftops. |
| Solar farm developers | Strong fit | Parcel, ATC, queue and LMP tools are made for utility-scale siting. |
| EPCs (design and build firms) | Strong fit | Enverus has an EPC page with project tracking and interconnection screens. |
| Solar designers and engineers | Partial fit | Layout and yield work sits in RatedPower, a separate product. |
| Solar sales teams | Weak fit | There are no proposals or customer sales tools. |

Solo installer
Weak fit
There is no public price or self-serve sign-up. You must ask sales.
Small team
Partial fit
An 11 to 50 person developer, Zhero, is a named customer.
Growing company
Strong fit
Developer teams use it to screen many sites at once.
Large company
Strong fit
Enverus says big utilities and 8,000+ companies use its data.

Ask Enverus PRISM for a price Prices change often. We never guess a price that is not on the website.
Learning curve
High
It runs in a web browser, so there is nothing to install. But it holds many data layers for many energy fields. Expect time to learn which layers and workflows matter for solar siting.

Our assessment
The useful part is the forecasting of power prices and loads, which is a data product, not a chatbot. Enverus also sells a GenAI helper called Instant Analyst. Treat its speed claims as the company’s own until you see a demo.
