Terabase Energy Review 2026

Tools for building very large solar farms. They cover power estimates, building progress and plant control.

Best for
Owners and builders of very large solar farms.

Our quick verdict

Terabase covers a solar farm from design to running the plant. Its main software is Construct, a cloud tool for tracking build progress and quality on big sites. The main drawback is that Construct and SCADA have no public price, so you must talk to sales.

Best for

Owners and builders of very large solar farms.

Not ideal for

Home or business rooftop installers, and anyone who needs sales or proposal tools.

Biggest strength

Construction tracking, drone checks and digital quality control built only for solar farms.

Biggest weakness

No public price for Construct or SCADA, and an open API for Construct is still listed as coming soon.

Top alternative: PlantPredict. Pick it if you only need energy modelling. Same maker, with a free plan and public prices.

What can Terabase Energy help you do?

  1. 01

    Track solar farm construction

Construct turns drone and field data into progress maps and S-curves (charts of planned versus real progress). You can compare progress with your Primavera P6 schedule. This helps you see delays early on sites of thousands of acres.

  2. 02

Run quality checks in the field

Crews pin issues on a GIS map, use checklists and assign fixes with due dates. Field Mode works offline and syncs later. You can export punchlists (lists of fixes) to Excel or CSV.

  3. 03

Model energy and design the site

PlantPredict estimates how much power a solar farm will make. Design Pro, Terrain Pro and Voltage Pro add site layout, earthwork and string length tools. These come with the PlantPredict Pro plan.

  4. 04

    Control and watch the plant

Terabase sells SCADA (the plant control and data system), plant controls and weather stations. It covers solar plus battery plants and grid rules.

  5. 05

    Automate panel install

Terafab is an in-field factory that assembles panels and trackers. The company says it doubles install speed. This is hardware, not software.

Key features

Each feature shows what we found on Terabase Energy’s own website, and how sure we are.

Solar design

Advanced

Design Pro does GIS site checks, layout scenarios and cost outputs for solar farms. It is part of PlantPredict.

3D modelling

Basic

Construct uses a GIS digital twin (a map-based model of the site). PlantPredict 3D shade is covered in the PlantPredict review.

Shade analysis

Advanced

PlantPredict offers 3D ray-traced shade modelling. This belongs to the PlantPredict product.

Power estimate

Advanced

PlantPredict runs energy yield models at 1, 15 or 30 minute steps, with open algorithm documents.

Permits and plan sets

Company claim

Terrain Pro is said to help permitting with early earthwork data. We found no permit drawing service.

Financing

Not found

We found no finance tools. Design Pro shows LCOE (cost of each unit of power) for project economics.

Project management

Advanced

Construct tracks progress against schedule, forecasts slippage and keeps audit trails. It links to Primavera P6.

Battery design

Basic

SCADA covers solar plus battery plants and battery analytics. PlantPredict lists battery simulation.

Monitoring

Advanced

SCADA, data loggers, weather stations and real-time predicted versus actual output tracking.

Operations and repair (O&M)

Basic

SCADA services include ongoing maintenance, support and operator training. We found no work-order tool for O&M crews.

Integrations

Basic

Construct links to Procore, SharePoint and Primavera P6. SCADA works with third-party EMS (energy management systems).

API

Basic

PlantPredict sells an API as a paid add-on. For Construct, API access is listed as coming soon.

AI and automation

Company claim

Construct is called AI-powered. AI issue detection and AI trend reports are listed as coming soon.

Mobile

Advanced

Construct has Apple and Android apps with GPS, geo-tagged photos and full offline use.

Reporting

Advanced

KPI dashboards, automated reports, S-curves and CSV or Excel exports.

Ease of use

Learning curve

Medium

Construct runs in a browser and on phones, and the QC flow is built for field crews. It works offline on site. Setting up a large site still needs project data and drone flights, so expect a guided start.
