3D modelling
AdvancedShows 3D layouts and terrain in reports. Professional adds a 3D performance viewer.
Solar software review
Cloud software that estimates how much power a solar farm will make.
Our quick verdict
Best for
Yield engineers at solar farm developers who use PVcase Ground Mount.
Not ideal for
Home installers, and teams that want a public price or a free tool.
Biggest strength
Detailed loss modelling (mismatch, DC cables, cell strings) on the same 3D layout you designed.
Biggest weakness
Quote-only pricing, and the deepest features are only in the Professional plan.
Top alternative: PVsyst. Pick it if you want a long-used desktop yield tool many banks know.
How much of each job we could confirm, and how deep it goes. Jobs that are not what this tool is for are left out.

Yield runs physics-based simulations with 3D ray tracing. Ray tracing follows light paths to see how much sun each panel gets. You get yield estimates without manual tuning, the company says.
Yield gives P50 and P90 numbers. P50 is the output you expect in a normal year. P90 is the output you should beat 9 years in 10. Banks look at these when they decide how much to lend.
You can import PVcase Ground Mount layouts and run yield on the same geometry. Professional also pulls in the electrical design to count cable losses.
Yield handles slopes, uneven ground and bifacial panels. Bifacial panels collect light on both sides, so the back side matters.
You export PDF reports and time-series data. Professional adds a 3D viewer that shows results on the layout.
Each feature shows what we found on PVcase Yield’s own website, and how sure we are.
Shows 3D layouts and terrain in reports. Professional adds a 3D performance viewer.
Ray tracing for shade and light. Professional adds high-resolution optical modelling and cell-string shade checks.
Energy simulation with P50/P90, 15-minute steps, bifacial and terrain modelling, mismatch and DC cable losses.
We found no permit tools in Yield.
No loan tools. PVcase says tighter P50 to P90 gaps lower interest rates. That is a claim, not a feature.
We found no project tracking tools in Yield.
We found no battery modelling on the Yield pages.
Imports PVcase Ground Mount layouts and, on Professional, its electrical design. We found no other named tools.
The pricing page says enterprise plans include API access. We found no API docs.
The company says it uses machine learning to run simulations in parallel. We could not check this.
We found no phone or tablet app.
PDF reports, time-series data exports and custom outputs with 3D layouts.

| Type of business | Fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Home solar installers | Weak fit | Every Yield page talks about utility-scale and large projects, not homes. |
| Business (commercial) installers | Partial fit | PVcase says its platform is for solar farms and business sites, but Yield only imports from Ground Mount, its solar farm tool. |
| Solar farm developers | Strong fit | Terrain, bifacial, P50/P90 and Ground Mount import all target solar farms. |
| EPCs (design and build firms) | Strong fit | EPCs using Ground Mount can model yield on the same design without rebuilding it. |
| Solar designers and engineers | Strong fit | PVcase names energy yield engineers as the users of Yield. |
| Solar sales teams | Weak fit | There are no proposal or sales tools. |
| O&M and asset teams | Weak fit | Yield does not track running plants. |

Learning curve
High
Yield is for energy engineers, so you need to know solar modelling terms. It runs in the cloud and reuses your Ground Mount design, which saves data entry. Both plans include training.
Training offered: Training and support included in both plans · Help center

Design
| Capability | Status | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| AI design | Not found | Yield does not design layouts. |
| AI proposals | Not its job | Yield makes no sales proposals. |
| AI sales assistant | Not its job | Yield has no sales tools. |
| AI lead qualification | Not its job | Yield has no lead tools. |
| Forecasting | Verified | Energy output forecasts with P50 and P90 numbers. This is physics modelling, not AI. |
| Automation | Company claim | The company says machine learning and cloud computing run large simulations in minutes. |
Our assessment
Yield’s core is physics and ray tracing, not AI. PVcase says machine learning helps run simulations faster. We could not test that speed claim.

PVcase does not show a price. There are two plans, Essentials and Professional, and you must talk to sales. We checked on 6 October 2026.
We found no free trial or free plan. You can request a demo.
Probably not for home installers. It is built for large solar projects and energy engineers. There is also no public price to check first.
No. It is an energy modelling tool, not a sales tool.
We found no battery modelling on the Yield pages. If you need to model batteries, ask PVcase or pick another tool.
PVcase lists API access under enterprise needs on its pricing page. We found no public API docs.
PVsyst, DNV SolarFarmer and PlantPredict are other yield tools for large projects.
It makes most sense if you already use PVcase Ground Mount. Then you can model yield on the same design without rebuilding it.
Our final verdict
PVcase Yield suits utility-scale teams that design in PVcase Ground Mount and need detailed, lender-ready energy estimates.
