Review management software for solar companies sends review requests after an install, watches new reviews on sites such as Google and helps you reply. NiceJob ranks first on this list, at 86.1/100, for small installers who want an automatic ask after each install.
Nobody builds review software for solar, so we judged general tools against an installer’s review cycle. Every product below is sold to local firms, home-services trades or brands with many sites. Each heading says so. The job we scored is narrower than general reputation work. You need one well-timed ask after energisation or PTO (permission to operate). Reminders should stop once a customer posts. You also need alerts when a review lands on Google or another site, and a quick reply from the office.
What this page covers: Review generation and reputation management only. For the wider marketing stack, such as call tracking, email follow-up and website lead capture, see our solar marketing software ranking. Want review requests triggered from your pipeline? Check the tool connects to the CRM (software that tracks customers and sales) you pick from our solar CRM ranking. We scored eight tools and platforms and ranked seven. Only five are review tools you can buy, and we have not padded the list. Google Business Profile and Trustpilot are review platforms you manage, not software you buy. They are ranked because installers have to run them, and they are labelled that way.

What is the difference between review software and review platforms?
Installers often mix up two different things. Review platforms are where homeowners read and leave reviews. Google Business Profile is the main one, with Trustpilot in some markets and solar directories such as SolarReviews. You do not buy them. You claim a profile and manage it.
Review management software sits on top. NiceJob, Birdeye, GatherUp, Reputation and Podium send the requests and chase people who have not replied. They pull reviews from many sites into one dashboard and help you respond. Most connect to Google Business Profile, so new reviews land where they count for local search.
A small installer can start with Google Business Profile alone and ask by hand. Software pays off once installs come so often that requests get forgotten. It also helps when several offices each have a profile to watch. Our CRM and lead management hub lists every related guide.
What rules should you follow when you ask for reviews?
Automating requests is fine. How you ask is what gets installers into trouble. Some review platforms ban two practices, and the rules can change. So read each platform’s current policy before you switch automation on.
- No incentives for reviews. Do not offer discounts, gift cards or prize draws in return for a review. Referral rewards are a separate programme, so keep them out of the review request. NiceJob’s Pro plan lists gifts, so check how you use them.
- No gating. Do not screen customers first and send only the happy ones to Google. Ask everyone, and handle complaints through your normal service process.
- Do not over-ask. GatherUp reviewers on Capterra say the tool may ask customers too many times. Set reminders to stop after a review is left.
Timing matters more than wording. For solar, goodwill usually peaks when the system is energised or PTO comes through. The day the contract is signed is too early.
How did we rank these review management tools?
How the score is weighted
- Use-case fit 35%
- User reviews 20%
- Pricing 15%
- Ease of use 10%
- Support 10%
- Momentum 10%
Our desk research ran from 22 to 24 October 2026. We read company pricing and feature pages and user reviews on G2, Capterra and Trustpilot (review websites). We tested none of them hands-on. Seven products cleared our minimum match score (4 out of 10). Six criteria make up each score.
- Use-case fit (35%): Proven review requests and reminders, monitoring across sites, reply tools, and a fit with an installer’s size and markets.
- User reviews (20%): G2 and Capterra ratings, weighted down when few people have rated.
- Pricing (15%): Free scores best, then published prices, then prices you must ask for.
- Ease of use, support and momentum (10% each): Sub-scores from reviews, support we could document and dated releases.
When a criterion has under eight reviews or no evidence, it gets a neutral 5.0. That is why Google Business Profile, with no G2 or Capterra listing, has a neutral review score. Scores fit this page’s job, so a tool can score differently on another page. SurgePV is not part of this ranking. Read the full method and how we verify pricing.

2. Birdeye (general reputation platform): best for monitoring and answering reviews across several offices
Best for: Regional installers with several branches in the US, Canada, Australia or the UK. Score: 83.0/100.
What it is: Birdeye is a reputation platform that sends review requests, watches review sites and drafts AI replies. Listings, messaging and payments sit on top. It has the clearest proof of solar use in this ranking. SunSolar Solutions in Phoenix (1,336 reviews) and Venture Solar in Brooklyn both have Birdeye-hosted review profiles.

Key features:
- Review requests and monitoring across sites.
- AI review responses.
- Business listings management.
- Hosted public review profile pages.
- Messaging inbox and mobile app.
- AI search visibility tools.

4. Reputation (general enterprise reputation platform): best for large installers with many branches and survey programmes
Best for: Mid-sized and large installers that run customer surveys and social media as well as reviews. Score: 80.4/100.
What it is: Reputation (Reputation.com) covers reviews, listings, surveys, social listening and sentiment tracking for brands with many sites. It is more than a small installer needs. Its reporting suits a business that measures customer experience across many branches.
Why we picked it: It publishes per-location prices and adds the surveys and social tools that large installers use. A big G2 review base backs its score.
Key features:
- Review requests and AI responses.
- Listings and local SEO.
- Customer surveys.
- Social media posting and listening.
- Customer mood tracking and rival benchmarks.
- Ticketing (Actions).
Pricing: Rep Core is USD 80 per location per month, with review requests, AI responses, listings and SEO. 5. Podium (general home-services messaging platform): best for review requests sent by text from a shared inbox
Best for: US home installers who already talk to customers by text. Score: 66.2/100.
What it is: Podium sells messaging, reviews and payments to local businesses. Its home-services plan is being rebuilt as an AI-led system with phones and dispatch. Solar is not a listed industry, and review requests are one feature among many, so it scores lower on this job than the dedicated tools.
Why we picked it: Requests go out by text from the same inbox your team already uses with customers. Staff can ask in the same thread, with no second tool to learn.
Key features:
- Review requests by text.
- One inbox for texts and website chat.
- Text AI and Voice AI agents.
- Payments.
- Dispatch, estimates and a technician app (home-services plan).

6. Google Business Profile (general review platform to manage): best for the free listing where local reviews land
Best for: Every installer serving homeowners or local businesses. Score: 63.3/100.
What it is: Google Business Profile is Google’s free listing on Search and Maps, where homeowners read and leave most local reviews. It is not software you buy, and most review tools above exist to feed it. It ranks here because managing it well is part of the job.
Why we picked it: It costs nothing, and reviews left here show in Google Search and Maps. Its review score is neutral only because G2 and Capterra do not list it.
Key features:
- Reply to and manage reviews.
- Posts for updates and special offers.
- Performance insights on search terms, calls and bookings.
- Service-area listing without a storefront.
- Quote requests and online booking.

7. Trustpilot (general review platform to manage): best for installers in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand
Best for: Installers in markets where homeowners check Trustpilot, especially the UK. It has regional business sites for the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Score: 59.1/100.
What it is: Run by Trustpilot A/S, Trustpilot is a public review site with paid business plans for invitations, website widgets and analytics. Like Google, it is a platform you manage, not a tool that manages other sites. It is more common with e-commerce brands than with US local installers.
Why we picked it: Its free account sends 50 invitations a month, so you can start at no cost. Unlike Birdeye or Podium, its paid plans have published prices.
Key features:
- Automated review invitations.
- TrustBox website widgets.
- Reply to reviews.
- Marketing assets.
- Analytics dashboards (Premium).
Pricing: A free business account includes 50 automated invitations a month. Starter is from USD 99 a month per domain, with 100 invitations, 2 widgets and 1 user. It is for new small businesses up to USD 5 million revenue. Plus is from USD 319 a month, with 300 invitations, 10 widgets, 3 users and a 14-day trial. Premium is from USD 799 a month, with 1,000 invitations, 21 widgets, 10 users and a customer success manager. Enterprise is quoted. All paid prices are per month, per domain, billed annually with a 12-month commitment. Checked October 2026 on Trustpilot pricing.
Pros (from reviews and our research):
- Many users see it as credible, and the website widget builds trust with visitors (Capterra).
- Easy for customers to read reviews.
- The free account sends 50 invitations a month, so you can start without paying.
Cons (from reviews and our research):
- Some reviewers doubt reviews are genuine, and you have little control over misleading ones.
- High cost and steep price rises at renewal.
- Less used by US local installers, whose customers mostly check Google.
Reviews: Capterra 4.5/5 from 1,207 reviews (capterra.ca). G2 3.3/5 from 265 reviews, though G2 also shows 3.4 from 262, with support 6.8/10. Both checked October 2026.

Review management software FAQs
How do solar companies get more Google reviews?
Ask every customer when their goodwill peaks, and make it one tap. Tools such as NiceJob (from USD 75 a month) and GatherUp (from USD 99) send SMS and email requests with reminders (checked October 2026). Each request links to your Google Business Profile. Reply to every review.
How do I automate review requests after a solar install without breaking platform rules?
Trigger the request from your CRM or job tool at a fixed milestone, such as system energised. Send it to every customer. Review platforms generally ban paid-for reviews and screening out unhappy customers before you ask. Check each platform’s current policy, and cap reminders.
Is it legal to incentivise customer reviews?
It depends on your country, and we do not give legal advice. Review platforms generally forbid rewards for reviews, so an incentivised review risks removal even where it is lawful. Take legal advice for your market, and keep referral rewards separate from review requests.
Should a solar installer manage SolarReviews and EnergySage profiles as well as Google?
Manage Google Business Profile first, because it is free and appears in local search. SolarReviews has installer profiles alongside a paid lead programme, and its own Trustpilot rating is 4.0/5 from 180 reviews (checked October 2026). We did not research EnergySage for this page.
How much does review management software cost?
As of October 2026, NiceJob starts at USD 75 a month, GatherUp at USD 99 for one location and Reputation at USD 80 per location. Birdeye and Podium are quote only. Google Business Profile is free. Trustpilot has a free plan, and paid plans start at USD 99 a month.
