Solar canvassing apps help door-to-door (D2D) teams knock the right doors. They give you territory maps, routes and a record of each knock. SalesRabbit ranks first on this list, at 82.6/100, for territory maps with homeowner data overlays.
Solar has almost no door-knocking apps of its own. Sunbase is the only solar-specific product in this ranking, and it is a CRM (software that tracks customers and sales) with a canvassing module. The other six are general field-sales tools that also sell to roofing, pest and telecom teams. SalesRabbit has no solar features, but it beats Sunbase on far more reviews, published prices and confirmed canvassing tools.
This page judges only the door-knocking job: territories, routes, knock checks and data at the door. For follow-up, contracts and proposals, see our solar sales software guide.

What separates one solar canvassing app from another?
Every app here puts doors on a map. For a solar door-knocking team, these differences matter most:
- Territory control: Can a manager draw areas and stop two reps knocking the same street?
- Routing: Does the app plan the order of stops, and how many?
- Knock checks: Are knocks GPS-verified, so you can trust doors-per-hour figures?
- Offline mode: Does data save when signal drops on a rural estate?
- Data at the door: Homeowner, ownership or weather overlays that show which doors are worth knocking.
- Pricing basis: Per rep, per record or flat, plus seat minimums and contract length.
Canvassing apps hand leads to a CRM. If you are choosing that next step, see solar lead management software or best solar CRM.
How did we rank these solar canvassing apps?
How the score is weighted
- Use-case fit 35%
- User reviews 20%
- Pricing 15%
- Ease of use 10%
- Support 10%
- Momentum 10%
We reviewed 8 apps from 22 to 25 October 2026, using company pages, price lists and public user reviews. This was desk research, so we did not canvass with any app. Seven reached our minimum match score (4 out of 10) and are ranked. One is under "Also considered". Each app is scored on six criteria:
- Use-case fit (35%): How well it does this page’s job. Mobile canvassing features count most, then rep-facing features, then lead management.
- User reviews (20%): G2, Capterra and App Store ratings. Ratings based on only a few reviews count for less. With fewer than 8 reviews, this criterion is neutral (5.0).
- Pricing (15%): Published pricing scores higher than quote-only.
- Ease of use, support and momentum (10% each): Review sub-scores, support channels and dated updates. Each is neutral without evidence. Apps whose core facts we could not confirm on the company’s own pages lose 2 points on momentum.
Scores weigh this page’s job, so the same tool can score differently on another page. General field-sales tools use the same rubric and are labelled as general. SurgePV is not part of this ranking. Read the full method: how we score software.
1. SalesRabbit (general field-sales tool): best for territory maps with homeowner data overlays
Best for: Solar D2D teams that want to choose streets using property and weather data. Score: 82.6/100.
What it is: SalesRabbit, Inc. makes a door-to-door platform for home-services teams. It is not solar-specific: its pricing and feature pages list no solar features.
Why we picked it: It scored highest on the door-knocking job, with territories, route planning and live rep GPS all confirmed. It also has the most G2 and Capterra reviews here, and its prices are public.
Key features:
- Map-based canvassing and lead tracking.
- Territory management and route planning.
- Live rep GPS location.
- Map overlays (Pro), plus DataGrid AI homeowner data and weather add-ons.
- Mover Leads add-on.
Pricing: Lite is free for one user. Team costs USD 59 per user per month, billed monthly, and covers canvassing, route planning, rep tracking, a sketch board and analytics. Pro costs USD 49 per user per month billed annually, or USD 75 monthly. It adds map overlays, custom fields, gamification and an API (a way for other software to connect). Enterprise is quote only.
The DataGrid AI and Weather add-ons cost USD 19 annual or USD 31 monthly per user per month. Mover Leads costs USD 13 or USD 20. Contracts run 1-3 years, with a required implementation package that is not priced. Checked October 2026 on the SalesRabbit pricing page.
Pros (from user reviews):
- New reps learn it fast. Ease of use is the top G2 theme, and Capterra rates it 4.3/5.
- Managers see every rep’s live location on the territory map.
- Door-to-door leads and follow-ups stay in one place.
Cons (from reviews and our research):
- The app can freeze or crash with large lead lists.
- Contracts run 1-3 years, and the required implementation package has no published price.
- Some users report billing surprises, such as quarterly bills a reviewer thought were monthly (App Store, March 2024).
Reviews: G2 4.5/5 (433 reviews), Capterra 4.2/5 (191 reviews), App Store 4.5/5 (1,200 ratings), checked October 2026.
What we could not confirm: offline mode, which is not described on the pages we checked.

2. Knockio (general field-sales tool): best for small crews wanting low per-rep cost
Best for: Crews of 1-10 reps who want a canvassing map without a multi-year contract. Score: 77.6/100.
What it is: Knockio, a US company, makes a door-to-door app with an optional field-service CRM. It sells to solar, roofing, pest and fibre teams. Its cheapest plan covers canvassing only.
Why we picked it: It has the lowest published price per rep on this page, from USD 20 at 5+ users. Its G2 and Capterra reviews all rate it 5.0/5.
Key features:
- Canvassing map with territory management.
- Rep tracking and route planning.
- Lead capture at the door.
- Upgrade path to CRM, dispatch and invoicing on higher plans.
Pricing: Prospect costs USD 25 per user per month for 1-4 users, or USD 20 for 5+. Organize costs USD 35 or USD 30. Growth costs USD 60 or USD 45. Scale (100+ users) is custom. There is no setup fee and no long-term contract. The page shows only a dollar sign, so we assume USD. Checked October 2026 on the Knockio pricing page.
Pros (from user reviews):
- Territory management stops two reps knocking the same doors.
- Canvassing, CRM, phone and email sit in one app, so there is less to pay for.
- You can shape it to your team, and updates come often.
Cons (from reviews and our research):
- New reps need a few days to get used to the mobile app.
- Custom reports take extra steps to build.
- There is no free trial, so you book a demo first.
Reviews: G2 5.0/5 (13 reviews), Capterra 5.0/5 (11 reviews), checked October 2026. All are from 2026, so the track record is short.
What we could not confirm: offline mode and homeowner data overlays.

3. RepCard (general field-sales tool): best for canvassing plus rep recruiting and training
Best for: Growing D2D teams that hire and train reps every season. Score: 76.7/100.
What it is: RepCard started with digital business cards. It now adds canvassing maps, recruiting and training for teams. It serves solar alongside roofing, pest, HVAC and fibre.
Why we picked it: Team Pro puts canvassing maps, recruiting and training in one plan at a public price. Its 2,500 App Store ratings average 4.9/5.
Key features:
- Canvassing maps with GPS and territory management (Team Pro).
- Leaderboards and competitions.
- Recruiting, onboarding and a training library.
- Automated follow-up reminders and smart notifications.
Pricing: Canvassing tools sit in Team Pro at USD 49 per user per month. That plan also has gamification, recruiting, onboarding, the training library and an API. Team Starter is USD 24 per user per month. Personal Free and Premium (USD 12 per month) are single-rep plans. Enterprise is quote only. Checked October 2026 on the RepCard pricing page.
Pros (from user reviews):
- New hires get strong support and training, says a solar rep on the App Store (October 2025).
- Templates make it quick to learn and use.
- Reps get an alert when a prospect opens their digital card, so they know when to call back.
Cons (from 3 Capterra reviews):
- No offline access, so knocks in dead zones are a problem.
- Contacts have to be typed in by hand.
- Team chat inside the app is slow.
Reviews: App Store 4.9/5 (2,500 ratings), G2 4.8/5 (7 reviews), Capterra 5.0/5 (3 reviews), checked October 2026.

4. SPOTIO (general field-sales tool): best for location-verified activity across large crews
Best for: Managers of 25 or more reps who need to trust activity numbers. Score: 71.9/100.
What it is: Sales managers in many industries use SPOTIO, a field-sales platform with a dedicated B2C (selling to households) door-to-door plan. Only SalesRabbit matched the canvassing job better. Quote-only pricing and weaker mobile ratings pull it down.
Why we picked it: It checks rep activity by location, and its B2C plan works offline. A base of 400 G2 reviews backs its score.
Key features:
- Territory creation and route optimisation.
- Activity tracking with location checks.
- Find My Team live tracking and offline Download My Day (B2C).
- Google Places data (B2B) and a Lead Machine add-on.
Pricing: Quote only, per user, on B2B, B2C and Custom plans. The FAQ says SPOTIO is built for 5+ users, while the plan cards say 25+ licences. Implementation is quoted separately. Checked October 2026 on the SPOTIO plans page.
Pros (from user reviews):
- Reps stop knocking the same door twice, says a solar rep on the App Store (2020).
- Managers see rep activity as it happens, says a solar company CEO (Capterra, February 2023).
- Canvassing stays organised and easy to track.
Cons (from user reviews):
- One App Store reviewer (May 2024) reports crashes, sync failures and lost customer data.
- Yearly contracts charge for users you do not use.
- Service gets weaker after you sign.
Reviews: G2 4.5/5 (400 reviews, though the page also says 380+), Capterra 4.3/5 (78 reviews), App Store 3.4/5 (324 ratings), checked October 2026.

5. Ecanvasser (general field-sales tool): best for solar-ready home filters and offline canvassing
Best for: Large setter teams on rural or patchy-signal routes. Score: 67.7/100.
What it is: Ecanvasser comes from Cork in Ireland and began in political canvassing. It now has a solar use-case page with solar-specific door filters. Door-to-door sales teams, including solar, use it.
Why we picked it: Few apps here offer solar-ready home filters, GPS-verified knocks and offline sync together. Unlimited users on every plan keeps cost flat as the team grows.
Key features:
- Filters for solar-ready, owner-occupied homes, and a map of existing installs.
- Micro-territories drawn on the map.
- Route optimisation for up to 200 stops.
- GPS-verified knocks and doors-per-hour tracking.
- Offline canvassing with auto-sync.
Pricing: Priced by database records, with unlimited users, monthly or annual. The amounts sit in a calculator we could not read. Capterra’s EUR 99 per month is not confirmed by the company. There is a 7-day free trial. Checked October 2026 on the Ecanvasser pricing update.
Pros (from user reviews):
- Most reviewers find it simple for day-to-day canvassing.
- The screen is clean, and managers see results in real time.
- Reviewers say the price is fair.
Cons (from user reviews):
- Some reviewers say mobile entries failed to save, despite the offline sync.
- Less experienced users can find it hard, and there is no formal training.
- One reviewer (November 2024) had a billing dispute after the trial and was refused a refund.
Reviews: Capterra 4.0/5 (93 reviews), G2 4.3/5 (23 reviews), checked October 2026. Most Capterra reviews come from political users in 2020-2021.

6. Demand IQ (general field-sales tool): best for pairing a 10-rep canvassing app with web instant quotes
Best for: Installers running website lead capture who also send a small field team out. Score: 57.0/100.
What it is: Demand IQ, Inc. began with a solar instant-estimate tool. It now sells lead capture, AI presentations and AI texting to residential contractors in general. The canvassing app is one feature of a lead-capture platform, which is why it only just clears our minimum match score.
Why we picked it: It publishes plan prices and bundles a 10-rep canvassing app with web lead capture. G2 users rate it 4.7/5 from 19 reviews.
Key features:
- Canvassing app for field reps (10 reps on Capture).
- Embeddable instant price-range estimator.
- AI-narrated presentations with open alerts (Win).
- AI texting for speed to lead (add-on).
Pricing: Capture costs USD 495 per month. It includes instant website quotes, 5 lead-capture journeys, 500 prospects a month and a canvassing app for 10 reps. Win costs USD 775 and Scale USD 995, all paid annually. The AI Texting add-on costs USD 395 per month, and Custom is quote only. Checked October 2026 on the Demand IQ pricing page.
Pros (from our research):
- Field and web leads land in one system, so nothing gets lost between them.
- You can see plan prices, with set-up included, before you talk to sales.
- The product is still moving, with active 2026 work on AI agents.
Cons (from our research):
- The Capture plan’s canvassing app covers 10 reps.
- Plans are paid annually, with no monthly option shown.
- There is no free trial, only a demo.
Reviews: G2 4.7/5 (19 reviews), checked October 2026. The review text sits behind a login.
What we could not confirm: canvassing features beyond "for 10 reps", and whether the solar-specific tools now sit only in the older Stella product.

7. Sunbase: best for solar installers wanting canvassing inside a solar CRM
Best for: Small and mid-sized US solar installers who would rather run D2D from their CRM than add an app. Score: 51.0/100.
What it is: Built for residential solar by Sunbase Data, this is a modular CRM and contractor suite. Roofing and construction firms buy it too. The same suite has a design module (roof layout on imagery, shading and production estimates).
Why we picked it: It is the only solar-specific product in this ranking. Canvassing leads land in the same CRM as proposals and projects.
Key features:
- Door-to-door territory and rep GPS tracking (company blog).
- Solar lead and pipeline management.
- Proposals, estimates and e-sign contracts.
- Project management, inventory and workflow automation.
Pricing: "Plans start from USD 59 per user per month". The final price is a custom quote based on users, modules and onboarding. The design page says there are no long-term contracts. Checked October 2026 on the Sunbase pricing page.
Pros (from reviews and our research):
- Automated emails and tasks save office time, says a Capterra reviewer.
- Canvassing leads stay in the same solar CRM as proposals and projects.
- You are not locked in: the company says there are no long-term contracts.
Cons (from reviews and our research):
- Set-up is hard for admins without technical skills.
- The final price is a custom quote, so USD 59 per user is only the starting point.
- With one user review, there is little outside evidence to judge it by.
Reviews: Capterra 4.0/5 (1 review), checked October 2026. The G2 listing shows no rating.
What we could not confirm: canvassing depth beyond a company blog post, named integrations and a free trial.

Also considered
- Enzy (a weak match for this job): a sales-performance and gamification app that sits on top of an existing CRM. It covers leaderboards, incentives, training and AI insights. Its facts come from the App Store and SourceForge, not the company site. We could not confirm a door-knocking map. App Store 4.4/5 (161 ratings, October 2026).
- Parcel and property data (for example Regrid): useful for choosing streets. It is data, not a canvassing app, so we did not score it.
- Enerflo: a solar sales-to-install platform with no canvassing features. It is ranked on our solar sales software page.
How do you choose a solar canvassing app?
- Want the strongest canvassing map, and happy to pay for data overlays? Pick SalesRabbit, and check the contract length.
- Small crews that want the lowest per-rep cost without a contract should pick Knockio’s Prospect plan.
- If you recruit and train new reps every season, pick RepCard Team Pro.
- Managing 25 or more reps who need location-verified activity? Get a SPOTIO quote.
- Where signal is weak or setters are many, trial Ecanvasser for its offline mode and unlimited users.
- When most leads come from your website and the field team is small, Demand IQ covers both.
- Solar installers who want canvassing inside a solar CRM can shortlist Sunbase.
- If the rep’s job continues past the door to contracts and proposals, read our solar sales software ranking.

Solar canvassing apps FAQs
What is the best canvassing app for solar sales?
SalesRabbit scores highest in our October 2026 ranking (82.6/100). It has territory maps, route planning, live rep GPS and optional homeowner-data overlays. Knockio (77.6) is cheaper per rep, at USD 20-25 per user per month with no long-term contract.
What is door-to-door sales software?
It is a mobile app that shows reps which doors to knock and records the outcome at each door. Managers use it to assign territories and track activity. Most apps used by solar teams, including SalesRabbit, SPOTIO and Knockio, are general tools also sold to roofing, pest and telecom firms.
How does route optimisation help solar canvassers?
It orders the stops, so reps spend more time at doors and less time driving or doubling back. Ecanvasser optimises routes of up to 200 stops, and SPOTIO and SalesRabbit include route planning (checked October 2026).
Can canvassing apps integrate with a solar CRM?
Yes, though mostly through general CRMs. Knockio connects to Salesforce, HubSpot, GoHighLevel and Zapier. RepCard lists Salesforce, HubSpot and Zapier on Capterra, and Enerflo lists a SalesRabbit integration. Sunbase avoids the problem by building canvassing into its own solar CRM.
How much do door-knocking apps cost per user?
In October 2026, Knockio costs USD 20-25 per user per month and RepCard Team Pro costs USD 49. SalesRabbit Team costs USD 59, and Pro costs USD 49 annual or USD 75 monthly. SalesRabbit Lite is free for one user. SPOTIO is quote only, and Ecanvasser prices by records.
